Apollos start season with 2 players on Injured Reserve
Barring an injury in the first week of practice, the Orlando Apollos will start the season off with two players on the Injured Reserve list.
The Injured Reserve list is a special part of the roster that allows players to be with the team, but not be on the official roster while they rehab short-term injuries. They are eligible to return to the team during the current season, at the cost of another player leaving the roster.
The two players currently on the Injured Reserve list are:
- Deji Olatoye, CB
- Jerel Worthy, DE
There is an important distinction between being Injured Reserved and Injured Waived, as QB/WR Jeff Godfrey was designated. Godfrey suffered a serious enough injury that he was waived, which means he needs to go through the waiver process with all seven other Alliance teams before he can resign with the Apollos. I’m told that’s unlikely to happen, mostly because the injury Godfrey sustained is expected to keep him out most of, if not all, of the AAF season.
